We are a union sub-contractor with a strong focus on commercial and residential painting, wall covering, floor finishing, and residential drywall, taping, and finishing.

Our history dates back to 1949 when the company was founded by Herbert M. Statz, originally named Statz & Harrop Painting. Initially, we focused solely on residential painting but soon expanded into steel stud framing and drywall installation. By the mid-70s, we completed our first large commercial project as a steel stud and drywall contractor, the West and East Towne Malls in Madison, Wisconsin.

In 1996, we decided to split the painting and steel studs divisions, giving birth to Statz Painting & Decorating under the leadership of Larry G. Statz and Michael Statz. Since then, we have been concentrating solely on painting and decorating services, including commercial and residential painting, wall covering, floor finishing, and residential drywall, taping, and finishing.

Our team comprises of skilled project managers, foremen, journeymen, and apprentices who undergo a rigorous three-year apprenticeship training program. This ensures that they are always up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies in painting and decorating. We are very proud of our legacy and continue to uphold the values instilled by our founder, providing the same quality and service as he did years ago.
