Our Story

Sykes Painting Company was founded by Scott Sykes, who has a passion for the craft of painting and a desire to provide exceptional service to his clients. Scott learned the trade through experience, working for painting contractors in both Las Vegas and Durham, North Carolina, and later attended Durham Technical Community College to earn an Associate in Arts degree. He continued his education at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

After graduating in 2004, Scott decided to pursue his passion for painting and founded Sykes Painting Company. Over the years, he has continued to grow his business by hiring employees and training them in his approach to the profession of coatings application. Today, Sykes Painting Company proudly serves the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas, providing high-end custom and designer coatings applications and restoration services to residential, commercial, and restoration sectors.
