Tradesman Painting & Drywall is a business that has been serving the communities of Marin, Napa, and Sonoma for over 18 years. Our company was founded in 1998 by Perry Laycock, who has more than 34 years of experience in the painting and drywall industry.

Our History

Perry's career in the painting industry began when he was just 19 years old. He worked for the Point Reyes National Seashore park services, painting historical landmarks such as the "old red barn" and the "lighthouse". He then transitioned to high-rise painting in downtown San Francisco, where he worked for several years. After that, he spent 10.5 years as a job foreman for Bob Kunst Painting, Inc. in San Rafael, California. During his time at Bob Kunst, Perry graduated from the Painting, Decorating, and Contractors' of America Apprenticeship School. He was also privileged to be a student of the gifted Wolfgang Heinritz the 3rd, who was a master painter of faux marble and various decorative finishes.
